Four players to continue soccer, education careers at four-year universities

Four players to continue soccer, education careers at four-year universities Andrea Vasquez -- February 12, 2014 HOUSTON – Four San Jacinto College soccer players have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and soccer careers at three universities across the country. Sophomore midfielder Pablo Vasquez (Madrid, Spain / El Burgo de las Rozas) will continue his soccer career at for San Diego State University in California. Vasquez ended the 2013 season with 11 goals and 13 assists for 35 points. He also received National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) First Team All-American and All-South Region First Team honors. Sophomore defender Call Casarez (Austin / James Bowle HS) will move on to play for Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Casarez finished last season with six goals for 12 points and was named the team's newcomer of the year. Sophomore defenders Pablo Reyes (Houston / North Shore HS) and Jesse Suarez (San Bernadino, Calif. / Cajon HS) will continue their college soccer careers at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. The 2013 San Jacinto College men's soccer team had a record-breaking season, taking them to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) semifinals in Tyler, Texas. Finishing third in the nation, the team also set a new school record, ending the season with a 20-2-0 overall record. Open tryouts for the 2014 season will be held on Friday, March 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the San Jacinto College South Campus soccer field.
