Johnson named 2014 Outstanding Student Organization Leader

Nedra Johnson has been named the 2014 San Jacinto College South Campus Outstanding Student Organization Leader (formerly the Student of the Year award).
Johnson, who will graduate this month, is president of the Alpha Gamma Zeta chapter of the international honor society, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Johnson was also named PTK Officer of the Year, and PTK was named the campus’ Outstanding Student Organization of the Year. Under Johnson’s leadership, Alpha Gamma Zeta received a College Project Participation Award, Honors in Action Award, and Five Star Award at the PTK regional conference. Recently, at the international conference, the chapter received a Distinguished Chapter Project Award, an honor given to only 30 chapters out of 500 chapters who submitted nominations. Johnson will be receiving her associate degree in business and plans on attending Texas A&M at Galveston in the Fall to major in maritime administration.
