Local PTK chapter turns heads at international conference

The San Jacinto College South Campus Alpha Gamma Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society received several awards at the PTK international conference in Orlando, Florida.

Member, Zahra Shihabuddin, received an International Distinguished Member award; Alpha Gamma Zeta Vice President of Leadership, Stefan Balciunas, received a 2014 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Bronze Scholar Award, which includes a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation; and the chapter itself received the Most Distinguished Chapter Project award for their “SJC LIFE Passport” project and a 2013-2014 Top 100 PTK Chapters award.
