Ragsdale, Donaldson earn NFCA All-Tournament team honors

Booren -- March 17, 2014 HOUSTON – Sophomores Sarah Ragsdale and Loren Donaldson earned All-Tournament team honors at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Junior College Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., Feb. 28 – March 2. San Jac (22-10) went 4-1 at the tournament, with wins again then top-ranked Wallace State Community College – Hanceville, Des Moines Area Community College, Muskegon Community College, and Kirkwood Community College, before falling to Louisiana State University – Eunice in the semifinal of the gold bracket. Ragsdale, a sophomore utility player from Orange (West Orange – Stark HS) hit a whopping .533 at the tournament, behind eight hits, including two doubles and two RBI, in 15 plate appearances. Donaldson, an infielder from Alvin (Alvin HS), hit .333 behind six hits, including three homeruns and nine RBI, in 18 at-bats. San Jacinto College returns home this weekend to face Blinn College Saturday at 1 p.m. All games are free, and are played at the South Campus softball field, located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston.
