Maurice McNeil, or “Mo” as his teammates and coaches know him, had a breakout year for San Jac last season, and returns this year as one of head coach Scott Gernander’s top starters.

Maurice averaged just under 13 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game, as San Jac finished the season with a 23-9 overall record and a trip to the semifinals of the Region XIV tournament.

Originally from New York, Maurice attended Park Prep School in Houston prior to attending San Jac. Gernander likes his moves and feels his athletic arms and body give him an advantage in rebounding.

Look for more inside moves from Mo and his teammates, as San Jac opens the season in late October in the hunt for a return to the NJCAA national tournament.
