San Jacinto College to host Region XIV men’s soccer tournament

HOUSTON –San Jacinto College South will host the Region XIV men’s soccer conference tournament on October 31 and November 1. With a 3-2 win over Tyler Junior College (TJC) on Oct. 18, and a record of 10-2-2, San Jac clinched the conference’s top seed heading into the tournament and will be competing for its fifth-straight regional championship.
As the top seed, San Jacinto College will have a bye and will face the winner of the Friday semifinal match between Tyler and Lon Morris. The two teams will square off at noon on Friday. The winner will face San Jac for the conference title at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1. All games will be played at the soccer field on the San Jacinto College south campus.
The winner of the Region XIV tournament will advance to the Mid-Southwest District Tournament Nov. 7 and 8 in Tyler, Texas, where they will face the Region X champion in the semifinals. The winner of the District championship advances to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) tournament Nov. 19-23 in Phoenix, Arizona.
