Dobie's Spossey signs letter of intent to play volleyball at San Jacinto College

PASADENA, Texas – Brooke Spossey, a senior at Dobie High School in the Pasadena Independent School District, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and volleyball career at San Jacinto College.

Spossey, a 5-5 defensive specialist / libero, led the Dobie Longhorns with 550 digs and 79 service aces last season. The team finished with an overall record of 19-9, 9-5 in district play, and were bi-district finalists.

“Brooke is a solid defensive player who has demonstrated strong leadership and a relentless attitude to go for every ball,” said SJC head coach Sharon Nelson. “She is calm and consistent on the court. Her mature character, stability, talent and leadership should prove invaluable to us next year.”

In its third-straight trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament, San Jacinto finished the 2007 season sixth in the nation with a record of 30-13, including a perfect 12-0 in conference play.
