GULF STATES TOYOTA Automotive Technology TTEN Diversity Scholarship
The Gulf States Toyota Automotive Technology TTEN Diversity Scholarship is merit and needs based, providing funding for students from lower-income households who wish to pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology Toyota TTEN option, on the San Jacinto College Central Campus. Throughout the two year program, the scholarship will provide funding to cover the expense of:- Tuition and standard fees
- Required books and materials
- Toyota/Snap-on tool set
- Near campus housing (if applicable)
- Meals on campus
A paid internship at a Toyota Dealership is also provided after the second semester
Criteria for Eligibility:- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and/or lawful resident, residing in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, or Louisiana.
- Applicant must be a High School graduate with a GPA of 2.50 or higher, or possess a GED or Home School Certificate.
- Applicant must apply for admission in the San Jacinto College Central Campus Associate of Applied Science degree program, and select the Toyota T-TEN
- Applicant must submit a hand written essay of 500 words or less outlining his/her educational, career, and life goals.
- Applicant must submit 3 letters of reference (for example: one from a High School counselor or Principal, one from a High School instructor, and one from a person of his/her choice).
- Applicant will be required to maintain full-time enrollment status.
- Applicant will be provided selected near-campus housing, if housing applies.
- Applicant must pass a T.A.S.P. or Compass placement test with a grade minimum of 6-6-6.
- All campus Policy and Procedure and Code of Conduct will apply.
Scholarship awards will be based on qualification and merit, and on financial need.
