Looking for something fun for the kiddos this summer? Look no further than in your own backyard at San Jacinto College! The College plans to host a variety of fun and enriching summer camps for kids of all ages at each of its three campuses. There is something for every interest from athletics and career exploration, to music and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and everything in between.

Camp prices vary, depending on the camp. Some scholarships are even available to those who qualify to help with camp tuition. Register today!

Volleyball Camp

San Jacinto College will host a Volleyball Camp for female athletes entering the 6th through 12th grades (Grade entering as of the 2016-17 Academic School year). This is an "All Skills Camp" - A Great Camp for the Beginner, the Intermediate or the Advanced Level Jr. High through HS/Club Player. Campers will be grouped according to age and skill level, the goal is to meet the needs of each individual camper.

The Raven Volleyball Camp is a 3-day camp that will provide an overall learning environment for beginners through advanced level volleyball players. The camp is designed to improve a player's all around game by focusing on the 6 major skills (passing, setting, blocking, defense, serving, attacking) of volleyball in fast paced training and game-like drills. In this camp not only will each athlete train all volleyball skills at a high level with proper technique, but their volleyball knowledge will increase as well. Campers will be exposed to team systems that will help prepare them for scholastic, recreational, club and college programs.

The San Jac summer baseball camp will cover all aspects of the game of baseball from hitting, hitting drills, base running and base running drills as well as defensive play at each position.Proper Throwing and throwing drills will be emphasized as well during the four day camp. Conditioning Camp

This morning session camp will incorporate low level resistance training, core strength building and high speed quickness and agility exercises.  Blending these drills will provide a game-like flow with opportunities to enhance performances in areas such as jumping, changing directions, creating force while off balance, as well as injury prevention.  These attributes are important in a variety of sports and can be used to train various athletes for peak performance.

Conditioning Camp is open to male and female athletes of a variety of sports.

The Maritime Venture Summer Camp allows young people 14 to 17 years old opportunities to explore exciting careers available in the area's thriving maritime industry. Woodwind & Brass Camp

The Woodwind & Brass camp is open to high school-level woodwind players and brass players.  The groups will be divided into a woodwind choir and a brass choir. Daily musical activities will include large rehearsals, comprehensive masterclasses, and sectionals all led by some of the finest woodwind and brass musicians in Houston. The camp is designed to provide teens with the insight and skill development to be more consistent performers through an intensive program of study. During the week there will be brief recital performances by the clinicians for inspiration. There will also be a session on how to be a leader in a musical setting. Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience.

Snacks are provided; students are to bring a sack lunch each day except for Friday (Pizza Party)

Saxophone & Jazz Camp

The Saxophone-Jazz camp is open to high school-level  to college-level saxophonists. The week promises a wonderful study and experience for any budding saxophonist wanting to become both a better player and to learn jazz. Daily musical activities will include ensemble playing, comprehensive masterclasses led by some of the finest saxophonists and jazz musicians in Houston. The camp is designed to provide saxophonists with the skill development to be more consistent performers. Renowned internationally recognized and award-winning saxophonist and jazz artist, Woody Witt will lead the Saxophone-Jazz Camp in a welcoming environment.

Middle School Band Camp

The Middle School Band Camp is open to any talent-level of band students ages 11-15. This camp continues the tradition of quality-intensive band rehearsals and musical training for young musicians. Musical activities will vary from large rehearsals to master classes to sectionals to solo competition. Students will perform under the batons of excellent band conductors and work with leading professional musicians from the Houston Area.
Students will learn band works to perform a concert the last day of camp (Friday noon). Founded in 2004, Summer Music Camps @North has been hosting a variety of week long summer music camps every summer. Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience.

Under the direction of Dr. Kinghchi Au, the Summer Piano Camp is designed for beginning level students, ages 6-13. Guitar Camp

The Guitar Camp is open to aspiring guitarists ages 12-19 (middle school thru high school) and all experience levels are welcome. The camp focuses on basic guitar skills and fundamental performance techniques. After being placed into groups according to level of ability, the daily activities will involve mastering basic and advanced chord progressions, note & rhythm reading, and learn at least one song by the end of the week for recital last day of camp (Friday 12pm) for families and friends. All students must have their own guitar (acoustic preferred but electric is fine; amps provided). Summer Music Camp clinicians and artists provide instruction, insight, and inspiration in a welcoming environment for a well-rounded musical experience.

Mentos, rubber-band slingshots, K’nex Bridges, makeshift rockets, LEGO soccer robots, balloon races and much much more!!!  This camp is an all-day adventure full of non-stop fun.   You supply the lunch and we supply the snacks.

Blast Off!

Students will discover the modern history of rocketry and learn the concepts of basic rocket design and purpose of these vehicles. Students are given the opportunity for a hands-on demonstration by building and launching their own model rocket and conducting a world-famous, NASA Flight Readiness Review on their own vehicle.
