Looking for something fun for the kiddos this summer? Look no further than in your own backyard at San Jacinto College! The College plans to host a variety of fun and enriching summer camps for kids of all ages at each of its three campuses. There is something for every interest from athletics and career exploration, to music and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and everything in between.

Camp prices vary, depending on the camp. Some scholarships are even available to those who qualify to help with camp tuition. Register today!

This camp is open to AAU, middle and high school girls basketball teams of at least six players (but no more than 12).  There is a three game guarantee for teams with bracket play on Saturday and Championships on Sunday.  Trophies will be awarded for first through third place.

Water-Bots I (beginner)

The Water-Bot camps explore the use and development of underwater remote operated vehicles (ROVs) in relationship to real-world and space exploration issues including microgravity applications similar to those used in NASA's JSC Neutral Buoyancy Lab.  The Beginner camp offers students the opportunity to learn the basics in electronics, soldering, and underwater robotic construction. Tours of NASA-JSC, guest speakers, and a final robotic competition are also included in this camp.  No prior robotic or electronic experience is required.

Water-Bots II

The Water-Bot camps explore the development and useage of underwater remote operated vehicles (ROVs) in real-world issues and space exploration utilizing microgravity applications similar to those used in NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Lab.  The Water-Bots II Intermediate camp will build upon the beginner skills from Water-Bots I and will add further complex engineering design methodology and robotic construction.  In addition, the camp will offer a tour of NASA's JSC, guest speakers, and a robotic competition with classmates.  Some electronic and robotic experienced recommended.

Lost In Space

San Jacinto College's Aerospace Academy is pleased to offer "Lost in Space"  - the ultimate scavenger hunt across the Galaxy.  This camp is designed to build a camper's technical skills needed to use Global Positioning System (GPS), map reading, coordinate tracking, and algebraic equations.  These skills are the basic foundational skills needed for tracking and mapping moving objects such as those used to track the International Space Station (ISS).  This camp will also include a tour of NASA-JSC and industry guest speakers.

All-State Choir Camp

The San Jacinto College Central All-State Choir Camp is an excellent, affordable way for area high school students to get a head-start on the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Choir audition music. Start your school year ahead of the competition!  Through fun and engaging daily rehearsals and sectionals, student participants will learn the entire All-State audition repertoire and present a public performance on the last day of the camp.  All camp participants will receive a music packet, a rehearsal CD, and a camp T-shirt.  Lunch is also provided each day.

Brass Chamber Music Camp with OMNI BRASS

Summer Chamber Music Camps are an opportunity for young musicians ages 12-21 to improve their musical and artistic skills in a fun and challenging small group setting, while working directly with members of OMNI BRASS and affiliate artists.  Campers perform in a  variety of ensembles, including a large brass choir, mixed chamber groups, and like-instrument choirs, and
participate in daily warm-ups, master classes, and mini-recitals.   Summer camps are a great time to prepare for UIL Solo and Ensemble! Camp weeks conclude with a finale concert featuring a camp Brass Choir, student ensembles, and a special performance by Omni Brass.   Family and friends are invited to attend! Discover You College Camp is designed to allow participants an opportunity to learn about careers, colleges, universities, and majors. Participants will understand the benefits of a community college, the importance of declaring a major, the significance of completing a certificate or degree and the triumph of graduating from any institution of higher education.

This camp is geared toward the teen who would like to develop leadership skills, overcome stage fright, and develop public speaking skills.  Areas of focus will include understanding emotional intelligence, qualities of leadership, public speaking skills, the art of conversation, and critical thinking.  It will be interactive and fun.
