Become an Expert in Mexican Culture

The U.S. Census Bureau projects that the Hispanic population in the United States will be over 100 million by 2050 – about a quarter of our total population. Well over 60% of this population originates from our closest neighbor, Mexico. Thus, those who have a deep understanding of Mexican culture will be called upon to help shape the political, educational and economic future of our nation, as well as our international policies and relations. You can build the background you need at San Jacinto College.

Position Yourself for the Future

Our program will immerse you in the history, literature, art, music and language of the Mexican people. You will understand the intricacies of their political systems, as well as the distinctive characteristics of their culture. An associate’s degree in Mexican American Studies is perfect for those working towards careers serving the Mexican American public – careers such as public and business administration, public relations, marketing, politics, education, government and minority affairs. Position yourself for the future of our nation, starting now.
