Begin a Career Helping Others

Every industry relies on the interaction of humans. Therefore, every professional endeavor has a psychological aspect. Earning an associate’s degree in psychology qualifies you to enter into the mental health professions, yet can also be a doorway into several other career areas (i.e., business, public relations, marketing and education). If you enjoy working with people, developing productive teams, and have the desire to study human behavior, you can get there with an associate’s degree from San Jacinto College.

Continue Your Education

As a Psychology major, you will be prepared to transfer to a four-year university to continue your education in areas such as social work, counseling, criminology, business and many others. Psychology also serves as a starting point for further education in fields like law or psychiatry.

Career Opportunities

With a bachelor’s degree in psychology one could work as an assistant within a psychological program or addictions clinic, human resources professional or educator. A master’s degree opens the door for higher education jobs in colleges and universities. Master’s degrees in counseling, psychology and social work allow for individuals to practice in a counseling center.

The doctoral level provides opportunity to work as researcher, professor or psychotherapist serving the public.
