Construction Management Technology

Construction takes place everywhere, every day. New buildings are going up at record speeds, and the industry needs skilled, talented, and qualified people to manage these construction sites. Pay is great, and the employment of construction managers is expected to increase nearly 17 percent by 2020. That’s good news if you’re interested in this career! Construction managers plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise construction projects from early development to completion. The San Jacinto College program focuses on the management of commercial and industrial construction with an emphasis on green construction. In addition, the program qualifies students to sit for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-hour Certification and the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate Certification. Graduates of the San Jacinto College construction management program can transfer to The University of Houston’s College of Technology to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
