MECA (Modified Early College Academy) Program for Dual Credit Students

(North campus only)

MECA is a full-time, dual credit college enrollment program offered at San Jacinto College North for students beginning their Junior year of high school and continuing into their Senior year. (Successful completion of Pre-AP Algebra II is a prerequisite as well as submitting qualifying TSI “skill levels” in Reading, Math, and Writing.) If a student earns additional credit hours during the summer, he/she has the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree by high school graduation.

It is recommended that qualified MECA students begin the summer prior to the Junior year of MECA, if possible.

Complete all three parts of the MECA Application process listed below, save the documents to Word, and then email the completed three-part application to: cathy.andrusick@sjcd.edu

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT ALL 3 PARTS IS APRIL 15 BY 5:00 PM. NO EXCEPTIONS!

PLEASE INCLUDE THE WORD “MECA” & YOUR NAME IN THE TITLE OF YOUR EMAIL MESSAGE WHEN SENDING IN THE THREE PARTS. ALSO, PLEASE REQUEST IN YOUR EMAIL MESSAGE THAT A FOLLOW-UP CONFIRMATION EMAIL BE SENT BACK TO YOU TO VERIFY THAT YOUR MECA APPLICATION WAS RECEIVED BY THE DUAL CREDIT OFFICE. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A REPLY WITHIN 24 HOURS, PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS RECEIVED.

IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CONFIRM THAT THE COMPLETE MECA APPLICATION WAS RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE.
