Banner and SOS outage Nov. 20

Banner and SOS will be down from Nov. 20 Dec. 1, 2009 for an upgrade to the system. During this time, there will be no access to either system for students and employees. The upgrade will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 and will run through 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1. At that time, Banner and SOS will re-open for general use by students and employees.
Please note that students and employees who access the Banner and SOS systems for registration, transcripts, payment, financial aid, and application processing will not be able to access any of these services during this time. This upgrade will not affect Blackboard, e-mail, network computer services on the campuses, the Call Center, tech support or the San Jacinto College Web site.
The upgrade is necessary to keep our system current and to be able to use the new or revised features that Banner 8 will bring, said College Registrar Wanda Munson. We hope to be able to implement some of the new features in the future, including registration wait listing, and an online application for graduation.
Students should also be aware that they will not be able to register for the Spring 2010 semester during this time, and should plan accordingly.
