Gainful Employment
As required by the Department of Education, San Jacinto College provides the following graduation and employment rates to students.
Important information about satisfactory academic progress for financial aid:
The U.S. Department of Education has redefined satisfactory academic progress (SAP) for financial aid. Effective immediately, SAP statuses include warning and suspension, and no longer include probation.
Students will not see this change until the end of the Fall 2011 term. A warning status level means that a student’s pass rate has dropped below 75 percent and/or GPA has dropped below 2.0. If a student’s status level is suspension, he or she will have to pay for tuition or file an appeal. Students are encouraged to file an appeal; however, approval is not guaranteed. To appeal a suspension status, download the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Form at www.sanjac.edu/node/5844, or pick up a form at a campus financial aid office. Part of the appeal process requires the student to visit the counseling center and obtain a copy of his or her degree plan and educational plan.
