English Language Programs
If you would like to improve your English skills, San Jacinto Community College District offers English language classes (ESOL).

A student may be admitted into the ESOL Program (English language classes) with a minimum score of:

TOEFL

  • 330 (Paper-based test)
  • 53 (Computer-based test)
  • 16 (Internet-based test)

If outside the U.S., submit an Official TOEFL score. Once the TOEFL test has been taken, the scores need to be sent to the campus that you plan on attending.

How to take the TOEFL in your home country

Results should be mailed to the Office of Enrollment Services at the campus you plan on attending.

Institutional TOEFL codes are:

San Jacinto College South - 6730
San Jacinto College North - 6729
San Jacinto College Central - 6694

If inside the U.S., students may take the CELSA exam at San Jacinto Community College District. A minimum score of 22 on Form I and 23 on Form II will allow the student to be admitted into the ESOL Program.

The program consists of three levels and covers listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar. An SJC international student advisor can assist you in obtaining a student visa for English language study.
