Computer Resources
Computer laboratories are available to students, staff, faculty, and administrators of San Jacinto College. They are equipped with personal computers and printers that are upgraded continually to reflect industry standards.
The local area network provides software to assist users in creating assignments, reports, accounting spreadsheets, statistical analyses, and computer programs. Tutorial software is also available.
Logging on
- The User name is your Student ID number which is located in the upper left-hand corner of your fee bill. It also appears on your new library card.
- The Student ID number starts with a "G" and is followed by several zeros.
- The Password is your PIN number that you used on the school's SOS system when you registered for classes. If you have forgotten your password, you may reset it by going to the SOS "Forgot Password" selection to reset it. Please allow 15 minutes for the change to become effective.
- The Domain name is MAIN.
- When you are ready to leave, log off your computer. This will protect your account and your work from unauthorized access.
Printing
In order to print you must have a print card. They can be purchased at the vending machine located at the front desk. This card is reusable and you can continue to place more money on it as needed. If you purchased a print card at the library or one of the other campuses they can be used here also.
Black and white copies are seven cents a page and color is fifty cents a page. If you have any trouble printing, please let us assist you.
Saving your work
The computers in the lab do not have a floppy drive. You can save your work to a USB key or to a blank CD. Also you can save your work to your work space on the H: drive. There are 4 options for saving data in the Interactive Learning Center. If you need help or have a question: Feel free to ask one of the staff or supervisors for help with these procedures or with any questions you may have. Good luck and have a great term!
