At the North Campus, the Chablis restaurant is an acting lab for its award-winning culinary arts students. Students and the general public can use the facility for special or private parties. To book an event at Chablis, call (281) 458-4050 ext. 7526

The Central Campus culinary arts department serves the public in a limited format. Six times during the spring semester, the department offers a lunch or dinner in Room B204 in the Ball Technical Building. Students prepare the food and get graded on their efforts. More information on exact dates and times is available by calling (281) 542-2099.

Culinary Arts provides basic education and training for cooks and apprentice chefs. Sequential courses provide for development of technical food preparation and service skills, understanding of the principles of food and beverage composition, experience in the use and maintenance of professional food service equipment, and basic supervisory skills.

The Culinary Arts Department offers several certificates and a degree plan upon program completion. Refer to SJCD Schedule/Catalog or call:
