Policy VI-S Policy on Naming Property

The Board of Trustees retains the exclusive right to name the facilities and property of the San Jacinto College District, including but not limited to college buildings, portions of buildings, streets and athletic facilities. This function may be accomplished at any posted meeting of the Board, at the Board's discretion. Recommendations on naming facilities and property are made by the Board Building Committee. Among the factors the Board may use in naming property include (1) outstanding community or public service, (2) exceptional employment performance for the district, (3) significant contributions to the college or its foundation, or (4) outstanding service as an elected or appointed public official.
