The Texana Collection
Housed in its own special room on the second floor, this a bounty of rare and interesting items on Texas and local history. Come in and you’ll find:
- Old and rare books
- Periodicals
- Autographed books and photos
- Memorial books
- Maps and census data,
- Genealogical information
Because so much of this material is unique and very rare, the room is kept locked except when in use, and no items may be checked out. If you’d like to work in the Texana Room, just ask a librarian to let you in.

The Career Collection
We’ve put together an assortment of great reference books so you can research various careers, as well as subjects like resume building, interview guides and the like. Most of this collection may be checked out.

From Ranching to Industry: A Photo History of Pasadena, Texas
If you’d like to study the history of Pasadena, you can do much more than read about it – you can see it, right here online. This is a bountiful collection of captioned photographs dating back to the earliest days of the region, not to mention the earliest days of photography.
Pomeroy Collection of Pasadena and Local History
We feel very fortunate that C. David Pomeroy donated the papers, personal records, and other resources he used to write his book Pasadena: The Early Years. These rare materials may not leave the library, but you can call and make an appointment to view them.
