Students showcase their countries during International Festival at San Jacinto College South
HOUSTON – Students from San Jacinto College South showcased ethnic traditions from countries across the globe during this year’s International Festival.
The event featured a fashion show of clothing from such countries as India, Turkey, Colombia, Thailand, Nepal, Korea, Kenya, Mexico, Iran, Mali, and Nigeria. Special guests also attended and performed dances native to their homelands; they included the Mahalla Tribal Fusion Dancers, Texas Southern University African Dance Group, Houston Community College West African Dancers, Sweft Feet Dance Company, Quantara Dance Company, and the Manutahi Tahiti of Texas Dance School.
San Jacinto College serves more than 24,500 students in over 140 degrees and certificates in university transfer and technical programs.
