College to host acclaimed inventor Venditti
HOUSTON – Acclaimed inventor and product development specialist Arthur Venditti will be the keynote speaker at “Product Design and Development: the China Factor,” a free public lecture to be held at San Jacinto College South.
The informative meeting will take place April 9 at 10 a.m. in the Kaleidoscope Room of the College’s Interactive Learning Center. San Jacinto College South is located at 13735 Beamer Road in the South Belt-Ellington area.
Venditti will discuss the product development process, including all of the phases involved in taking an idea from the concept stage to realization and production. He will also discuss the modern practice of outsourcing manufacturing through the Orient. He has taken numerous trips to the Far East and will talk about the need to establish and maintain communications with Asian vendors.
To supplement the lecture, there will be an exhibition of Venditti’s product development process and finished products at the College’s library from April 9 through April 30.
Venditti is the managing director of the Product Development Network, a business that guides inventors and entrepreneurs through the product development process. He has either created or helped create many new products, including items in the areas of arts and crafts, radio control vehicles, stationary, packaging, science kits, toys, children’s activities and junior sports.
He has more than a dozen utility and design patents issued or pending in the fields of toys, vehicles, games, electronics, mechanisms, and packaging.
The “Product Design and Development: the China Factor” lecture is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Consortium and the San Jacinto College South art department. San Jacinto College offers a wide range of art degree programs and course options at all three campuses.
