Career expo to be held at San Jacinto College North

HOUSTON – San Jacinto College North will host a career expo to enable local businesses, government agencies and industries to present employment information to community residents.

The expo is free and open to the public, and will be held on Tuesday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Monument Room of the Slovacek Student Center. San Jacinto College North is located at 5800 Uvalde Road in the North Channel area.

“Students, alumni and community members seeking employment are invited to attend the career expo,” commented Adriana Jones, career and employment center coordinator at San Jacinto College North. “Companies will be accepting applications and résumés of individuals who may qualify and meet their recruitment needs. Interviews will be conducted on site.”

Jones recommends people who attend the expo bring numerous copies of their résumés, and to wear business attire.

At least 40 companies and agencies are scheduled to have employment displays at the event, including Verizon wireless, Sysco Houston, Hilton Americas Hotel, Nexion Health Management, Fastenal, Meador Staffing, Ultra Staff, United Community Credit Union, Automated Logic and more.

“Last year we served more than 400 attendees at the expo, and we are expecting success again this year,” remarked Jones. “Community members are invited to come out and find out about new career opportunities.”
