Ross named NJCAA distinguished academic All-American

HOUSTON – San Jacinto College sophomore pitcher Trey Ross has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) distinguished academic All-American.

The Humble native (James Bowie HS), and a transfer from Wharton County Junior College, was 0-1 on the season with one save and a 6.43 ERA. He posted a 3.81 GPA as a business / accounting major.

To be considered for NJCAA distinguished academic All-American status, student-athletes must have completed three full-time semesters of college work, have participated in at least one season at the varsity level, and hold at least a 3.80 GPA.

San Jac finished the 2010 season with a 52-12 overall record. Its run at the Alpine Bank NJCAA JUCO World Series was the 21st in school history, and San Jac’s appearance in the championship game was the 12th overall.
