SBDC workshop covers Internet marketing

PEARLAND, Texas — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at San Jacinto College will host a workshop that provides valuable information about improving a business’ website.
“Internet Marketing: Techniques and Practices” will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the SBDC’s Pearland office, located at 6117 Broadway (inside the Pearland Commerce Center).
Persons who would benefit from the workshop include business owners who want to increase their website effectiveness, and independent entrepreneurs who want to enhance their website.
The workshop presenter will be Dick Myers, owner of Small Business Consultants, which specializes in providing businesses with information about improving results through improved utilization of new technology and computer systems. Myers is known for providing information about little known techniques that improve chances that a company’s website will place high on major Internet search engine inquiries.
Myers holds an economics degree from Texas A&M University, and attended graduate business school at the University of Texas. Because of his experience in professional consulting, he has insight into many different types of businesses and business environments. He brings that expertise to the aid of small business in which the greatest leverage for today’s competitive business environment is a better, smarter and more economic use of computer technology.

The SBDC at San Jacinto College provides free counseling and low-cost workshops to help the owners of small and medium sized businesses start and grow their companies.
