CLEP Information

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) offers you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know. Earn qualifying scores on any of the 33 introductory-level college subject examinations and accelerate your education. The 90-minute exams, which cost $80 each, are administered at the South and Central Campuses of San Jacinto College.  Effective July 1, 2012, the cost of each CLEP exam will be $80 per CollegeBoard.

CLEP Examinations are not offered at North at this time

* AP credit differs from CLEP credit in that a student enrolls in a course in high school and receives high school credit for the work in the class. The same student must pass an Advanced Placement (national) exam at the end of the course, and obtain a minimum score to obtain college credit. CLEP examinations require no coursework. Often, Spanish credits are obtained by our students who are skilled bilinguals in that subject.
