Attention San Jacinto College employees and students,

A massive global cyberattack began this past Friday and it has already affected 200,000 computers in 150 countries. San Jacinto College employees and students are being asked to be extra vigilant when opening attachments or suspicious emails to avoid malware. The malicious software that took control over computers demanded ransom payments to restore access.

San Jacinto College Tech Support will never ask for your username and password details in an email or by phone. If you are asked for your username or password in an email, please contact Tech Support immediately.

It is also a violation of the College’s IT security policy to surrender your username and password details in this manner.

Cybercriminals will use your account details to take control of your email account or computer system in order to gain information. Please do not provide any personal information, including username and password details.

You are encouraged to stay alert and aware today and always. If you receive a suspicious email or call that has not been addressed, please contact Tech Support via email or phone.
