
Student’s poem wins 3rd place in state contest
San Jacinto College student Marquitia Wright recently won third place on the state level for a poem she submitted in the National Career Development Association Poster and Poetry Contest. Wright, a criminal justice student at the North Campus, entitled her poem “My Career Dream.” In the poem, she envisions how she will serve in the criminal justice career field as one who “will continue to dream of justice and of peace; that dream of mine to get criminals off the street.” She won a certificate and a gift for her submission.
