Events

The Office of Student Life at the Central campus strives to provide events that are rooted in the long running tradition of excellence that has become the norm of San Jacinto College, blended with new fresh material to promote student involvement and success.  What follows is a list of staple events that are held annually, but please check the Student Life Facebook page, our sandwich poster boards throughout campus, and the online college calendar for many of our other events. 

Welcome Week: Held the first week of classes every fall semester, this event is designed to greet incoming freshmen and other new students to San Jacinto College Central. There will be entertainment, information, and the always-popular food and fun. Meet new people and make new friends. Don’t miss this event!

Activities Fair: An event hosted by the Office of Student Life where student organizations inform students about their group and recruit new members. This is a great way to meet new people—don’t miss it!

Raven Rally: Annual pep rally and festival to kick-off San Jacinto College Central’s basketball season and to recognize all student athletes involved in intercollegiate sports; held in late October. Money raised supports participating campus organizations.

Raven Fest: Annual Spring Fling event held outside in the North Courtyard.

Community Service: Campus-wide community service projects for needy children and families. Projects include food and clothing drives, “Wish Tree” and “Stocking Stuffing”; Habitat for Humanity, Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup, etc.

The Office of Student Life serves as a resource of service opportunities for the entire academic year.

Student Awards Reception: This event recognizes outstanding achievements of San Jacinto College students in academics, athletics, leadership, and student life on campus. Many special awards and scholarships are presented at this time. Attendance is by invitation only.
