HOUSTON — As the Fall 2012 semester begins at San Jacinto College, the South Campus fine arts department opens its event schedule with a solo student art exhibition, followed by theatre and dance productions, along with a selection of musical concerts to start the holiday season. The following outlines the Fall 2012 San Jacinto College South Campus fine arts event calendar:
Art
Aug. 27 – Sept 7: Oscar Perez (paintings), opening reception Sept. 6 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in gallery room S-15.112
Sept. 17 – Oct. 12: University of Houston Architecture (models and drawings from beginning class) in gallery room S-15.112
Oct. 22 – Nov. 16: H. Dixon Bennet, Retrospective (painting, collage) in gallery room S-15.112
Nov. 26 – Dec. 7: Rhodes School K-6 (gallery room S-15.112, fine arts building atrium, and South Campus library)
Theatre
Fall production: Oct. 26 – 27 at 7:30 p.m.; Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.; Nov. 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m.; and Nov. 4 at 2 p.m., all performances in the Proscenium Theatre
Winter production: December 3 – 8 at 7:30 p.m.; December 9 at 2 p.m., all performances in the Black Box Theatre
Music
Oct. 30: Performance class student recital, 2:30 p.m., Black Box Theatre
Nov. 2: Faculty recital featuring Lynne Brandt, Gail Roe, and Julie Richards, 7:30 p.m., Black Box Theatre
Nov. 27: Guitar ensemble concert, 7:30 p.m., Black Box Theatre
