Intern receives outstanding contribution award
PASADENA, Texas - An award of outstanding contribution was presented to Emilie Gerhart, San Jacinto College’s “Get a Glimpse Intern” in recognition of her stellar work at United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) in Clear Lake. As a corporate partner, UTAS sponsors students to serve as business, technology and engineering interns.
San Jacinto College’s Continuing & Professional Development internship program allows students to work onsite with UTAS managers while receiving essential workplace soft skills training from the College’s Continuing & Professional Development division.
“Emilie did an excellent job in support of new business initiatives in the area of data mining and organization. She is doing a fantastic job – an outstanding result from a self-starter, motivated person," said Bill Earnest, Site Programs Manager at UTAS.
“The internship experience at UTAS has been very positive. I enjoyed working on the investigation/project because I received general direction and input, and then had the freedom ‘to go for it’ and use my skills to accomplish the task,” said Emilie Gerhart.
