Board of Trustees recognizes

PASADENA, Texas – The San Jacinto College Board of Trustees recently recognized Melvin and Steve Cowart for their generous support of student scholarships and the San Jacinto College Foundation.
“Mel and Steve Cowart have been pillars of support to the San Jacinto College Foundation particularly in their support of the Promise for Their Future fund,” said Ruth Keenan, executive director of the San Jacinto College Foundation. “Their impact in the community is legendary and widespread and we are truly grateful for all they do to support the success of our students and the enrichment of our community.”
To date, Melvin and his son Steve have donated a total of $43,000 to the Promise for Their Future scholarship fund, including a $25,000 as underwriters for the 50th anniversary gala held earlier this year.
