Public invited to San Jacinto College Central to donate electronics for recycling

PASADENA, Texas – The public is invited to bring any unwanted electronics to the San Jacinto College Central Campus for recycling on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The event, sponsored by the College's Green Team, will accept items from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the campus' front entrance, facing Spencer Highway. Acceptable items for free recycling include computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TVs, cell phones, stereo equipment, microwaves, and more.

There is a $30 recycling fee for projection/wood console TVs, and a $10 recycling fee for  wooden speakers. An optional data cleaning service is available for $10 per drive for Department of Defense-approved hard drive cleansing. Hard drives will not be returned.

Items not accepted for recycling include biohazards, hazardous waste, liquids, fluorescent bulbs, smoke detectors, radioactive materials, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, or dehumidifiers.
