Computer information technology certification training available at San Jacinto College

PASADENA, Texas – The Continuing and Professional Development (CPD) division at San Jacinto College offers a variety of computer/information technology training courses, including network security, this semester for participants looking for certifications.
The division offers both the Technical Administrative Skills I course and the Technical Administrative Skills II course at the North Campus, located at 5800 Uvalde Road in Houston. Skills I will be available from Feb. 19 to May 9 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost is $750. Skills II will be available from May 14 to July 18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost is $775.
Each course will provide valuable hours of training in the basic and advanced features of the Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. It also includes training in the latest Windows Operating System. Skills obtained in this program will immediately expand employment opportunities for graduates in a variety of occupations. Participants will receive one MOS Certification Exam voucher and the proctoring fee.
The Network Security Certificate Program is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on each Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from March 25 to May 18 at the South Campus, located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston. This entry-level program will include networking fundamentals, server administration fundamentals, security fundamentals, and A+ essentials. Cost is $750. Those interested should contact the College's CPD division by Feb. 15.
