Introduction

Quality Enhancement Plan

Welcome

San Jacinto College was first granted initial accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on November 30, 1966. The North and South Campuses were first accredited in 1976 and 1979 respectively. The most recent reaffirmation for the College occurred in 1999. This site will provide information about both portions of the current 2009 reaffirmation project, including the Certification Compliance Report and the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). We welcome your input in this process.

San Jacinto College has three campuses and five outreach centers with a fall enrollment of approximately 24,000 credit students. With its offering of over 140 academic programs as well as opportunities for involvement in inter-collegiate and intramural sports and the fine arts, the College provides students the opportunity to attain a quality, well-rounded educational experience. The College partners with Texas Universities to provide easy transfer programs for our students who wish to continue with their higher education process. SJC also partners with businesses in the community to provide continuing development for the employees and future employees of the companies in our district. Additionally, the College partners with local independent school districts to provide dual credit and other early college programs for qualified high school students.
