San Jacinto College participates in Texas A&M University’s Program for Transfer Admission (PTA).  PTA offers prospective transfer students a unique opportunity to be automatically admitted to Texas A&M University.  PTA is designed for students attending Texas community colleges and offers more than 65 degree plans.  Upon successful completion of the coursework outlined by the degree plan and additional requirements of the program, participants are eligible for automatic admission to Texas A&M.  PTA is not recommended for all transfer students.  A mandatory pre-participation and final academic meeting with a Texas A&M University admissions counselor is required for PTA.  To view additional requirements for guaranteed admission and program guidelines, please visit

Students transferring to Texas A&M prior to graduation from San Jac may still earn an Associate’s Degree from San Jac by completing courses at Texas A&M.  Students only need to provide written permission to Texas A&M to allow the University to report their academic record to San Jac; once all required coursework is completed, students will be awarded an Associate’s degree by San Jacinto College (Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Arts in Teaching).
