Assessments

The OTD team is experienced in using a variety of assessments that give individuals and teams insights into their culture, work environment, relationships, communication styles, conflict styles, and thinking preferences. We’ll discuss your needs and objectives and help you pick the right assessment to achieve your goals.

Coaching

We are available to provide you with in-depth coaching on a variety of leadership issues. These one-on-one coaching sessions are designed to draw out the best in you and to improve performance through clarifying goals and developing a greater sense of self.

Hiring Leaders Onboarding Guide

An onboarding guide is available for hiring leaders as they prepare for new team members. 

Leadership Book Clubs and Discussion Groups

Learning On Demand

We use the latest technologies and internet resources to provide a supplemental and comprehensive course catalog for leaders that includes various learning experiences outside of traditional settings. As a leader, you have access to a vast library of online resources through Cornerstone Learning. If you’d like assistance, please contact us.

Professional Development Plans

We offer learning and development opportunities to help build your leadership bench strength and increase engagement. Professional development plans are designed to help you identify specific opportunities that are both motivating and encouraging to your individual growth. Would you like more information? Upward Feedback

San Jacinto College encourages you to proactively check with your direct reports to provide feedback to you for your development. Do you need information about receiving upward feedback? We’d be happy to assist you.

We can also facilitate an interactive session with your team designed to gather feedback about your leadership impact and perceptions about your style. The process is intended to generate self-awareness and improve team relationships. You or your supervisor can request this service.

San Jac Leadership Academy

We offer a number of engaging courses designed to build leadership knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies. We offer four courses to meet the needs of leaders at all levels of our institution:

ODHR 5430-Rising Leaders Course: For employees looking to increase their leadership potential. 

  • Offered virtually each Spring Term and In-Person each Fall Term

ODHR 5421- Foundational Leadership Course: For all leaders new to leading at San Jacinto College. 

  • Offered once each Fall, Spring, and Summer

Coming Soon- Strategic Leadership Skills Course: For leaders who lead multiple units/leaders.

  • First-course offering coming Fall 2023

By application process-Advanced Leadership Readiness Course: For leaders preparing themselves for senior/executive leadership. 

  • 10-month course offered every two years

 

Additional Courses

Beyond our San Jac Leadership Academy, there are other facilitated courses including: Transition to Leadership, Leader, and Coach: Performance Management Series, Project Management, Process Improvement, and more. Each session includes group discussion, and a tool kit to implement what you learned. These are offered on an “as needed/as requested” basis.

OTD has a team of certified Clifton Strengths, Emotional Intelligence, and True Colors Coaches! Leaders can schedule a one-on-one or team coaching session to discuss leadership skills, strengths, current challenges or opportunities, career plans, or to gain insight on upcoming changes/projects in your area!
