The Employees Retirement System of Texas is working with its health plan administrators, state leadership and other state agencies to closely monitor the potential impact of COVID-19. Together, we can assist State of Texas employees and retirees and their families who may be affected by the virus. All Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) health plans are equipped to help participants understand, prevent and, if needed, treat the virus.
The health plans also have trained staff who can answer questions about the virus and COVID-19.
To help limit exposure to the coronavirus and other possible infections, virtual visits are a great option for someone with mild symptoms. Virtual visits (medical and mental health) allow participants to see a licensed doctor through their telephone or computer. Many health plans offer virtual visits at no cost to participants or at a lower cost than a typical office visit. Find more information about virtual visits in each health plan below. The Harris Center has activated a toll-free mental health call line to support the community during the coronavirus situation. The line can provide trauma-informed support and psychological first aid to those experiencing stress and anxiety related to the COVID-19 event.
