Any time you apply for financial aid your file may be selected by the Department of Education for a process called verification. Verification means that San Jacinto College must confirm the accuracy of the information you provided on your FAFSA. You may see a note on your Student Aid Report or receive an email from the Financial Aid Office saying you were selected for verification. Once selected for verification, San Jacinto College’s Financial Aid Office must request documentation to verify the information you reported on your FAFSA is correct.

Students are selected for verification at random, by system edits at the U.S. Department of Education, or by the school. Whatever the reason may be, your next step is to find out, which verification documents need to be submitted and who needs to submit the documents.
