High School Equivalency Exams

San Jacinto College (SJC) Testing Centers offer testing for students to attain a certificate of high school equivalency for the state of Texas. The two high school equivalency exams are the Pearson General Educational Development (GED) and the ETS High School Equivalency Test (HiSET). Each test is available in English and Spanish.

Pearson GED



You will need to schedule through each exam's website at least 24 hours prior to your preferred appointment time in order to test.


On Test Day

When you are ready to test, you will need to bring the following items in order to be seated:

  • Your photo identification card (must be valid and government issued)
  • Proof of Texas residency (if not shown on your photo ID)

All other belongings are prohibited. Electronic devices, including all cell phones and smart watches, must be left outside of the testing lab. Other personal belongings must be stowed as well. Storage lockers are available but limited.
