ALMA MATER:  University of Houston

Lilia has worked at San Jacinto College for 3 years and has worked in both the Admissions and Educational Planning, Counseling, and Completion offices. She received her BA in Political Science from UH-Main. Lilia is a first generation college student and understands the struggles that students face when they have no one in their immediate circle to go to with questions related to higher education. Motivated by a desire to help others reach their academic goals, Lilia looks forward to helping as many students as possible in this role.

WHY MY JOB IS AWESOME:  Lilia loves giving students and their families the support and encouragement they need to accomplish their dreams!

FUN FACT:   Lilia loves dogs and has 4 of them! She also loves the movie Moana!

GABRIELA LUNAGABRIELA LUNA

ALMA MATER: Ashford University - Clinton, Iowa 

Gabriela has over 4 years of experience in career services, financial aid, advising, and admissions within higher education.  She received her BA in Psychology from Ashford University in Clinton Iowa. She enjoys advising students from many different cultures, ethnicities, and educational backgrounds.  She enjoys assisting students with developing educational plans that empower them to achieve their objectives. She is bilingual (Spanish) and is very passionate about assisting students in both English and Spanish. 

WHY MY JOB IS AWESOME:  I can challenge students to do their best and expand their horizons.

FUN FACT:  When Gabriela was younger she was in a semi- pro soccer team here in Houston, and she is still able to dribble a soccer ball.

 

ASHLEY HERRERA

ALMA MATER: Sam Houston State University

Ashley started in the Admissions office at San Jac South in June 2017, and started as a Shared Educational Planner in November 2018. Ashley received her BA in English from Sam Houston State University, and has a passion for helping others achieve goals they never thought possible. She understands the difficulties and barriers of the college application process, and can’t wait to help students become San Jac bound!

WHY MY JOB IS AWESOME:  Nothing lights up a room like a brand new college student! I love being able to help students through a major life transition and watch as they flourish in a new season.

FUN FACT: Ashley loves traveling, and she LOVES the beach. She is a huge geology nerd, and likes to collect different rocks, shells, and types of sand from wherever she goes.

 

REVA JOHNSONREVA JOHNSON

Reva is San Jac Ceritified! She received her Associate's Degree in 2009 from San Jacinto College and completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Houston. She has over 10 years of experience in higher education. She possess a warm spirit and loves to help educate, empower, and equip students in their future endeavors. 

WHY MY JOB IS AWESOME:  My job is awesome because it gives me the opportunity to give back the wisdom, knowledge, and experience that was planted in me. It also allows me to be able to reach people and see their lives change one student or soul at a time. 

FUN FACT:  Reva loves giving back to the community that she grew up in. She loves to travel and hopes to one day have her own group organization where she can witness life-changing experiences. She also hopes to be able to live happily ever after, retire, and ride around in her sling-shot motorcycle.

ALMA MATER:  San Jacinto College & University of Houston – Clear Lake

Rose started out at San Jacinto College earning an Associate’s Degree in Journalism. She then transferred to the University of Houston – Clear Lake where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She was thrilled to have an opportunity to come back to San Jac as an employee and be a part of the wonderful community that supported her through her education. 

WHY MY JOB IS AWESOME:  My job is awesome because I have the privilege of helping students find their path into college. I believe it only takes one person to make a difference in someone’s life. I do not believe that college is not for everyone. Tell me your dreams and I will make them come true. 

FUN FACT:  Rose loves to sing and she hopes to star in a musical one day. She also wants to sing with a mariachi band one day! (Just for fun!)

ALMA MATER:  Baylor University & University of Houston – Clear Lake

Kimberly is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 years of counseling experience.  She received her BA in Psychology from Baylor University and her MS in Counseling from University of Houston – Clear Lake.  She was first in her family to graduate from college so she understands the challenges that first generation students face when applying to college.  She strives to assist students in recognizing their strengths and make their transition from high school to college more seamless.
