Emergency Procedures (Operational Level) is a 3-day USCG & STCW approved course that will teach students the necessary procedure for dealing with emergency situations and the training that is necessary to maintain an effective response. Students will gain knowledge of the importance of emergency drills as well as the importance of shipboard safety. This course is required for all Able seaman upgrading to 3rd Mate/2nd Mate.
Students who successfully complete Emergency Procedures (Operational Level) will satisfy the Respond to Emergencies standard of competence requirements of Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010; and 46 CFR 11.309(a)(3) for certification as an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 gross tons (ITC) or more.
