*First Aid & CPR is one of four courses necessary for STCW 2010 Basic Training. The remaining required courses are Fire-fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Personal and Social Responsibility.

First Aid & CPR is a 1-day USCG & STCW approved course that provides students with the knowledge and practical training to in elementary first aid, CPR and use of an AED on an adult victim.
Students who successfully complete First Aid & CPR will satisfy the following requirements:
- Elementary First Aid per STCW Code Table A-VI/l-3; AND
- Elementary First Aid per 46 CFR l 1.302(a)(3) and 46 CFR 12.602(a)(3); AND
- The First Aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201 (i)(1); AND
- All the First Aid & CPR assessment tasks from NVIC 08-14: Task No. Task No. 4.1.A, 4.1.B, 4.1.C, 4.1.D, 4.1.E, 4.2.A, 4.3.A, 4.3.B, 4.4.A, 4.4.B, 4.4.C, 4.4.D, 4.4.E, 4.4.F, 4.4.G, 4.4.H, 4.4.I, 4.5.A, 4.6.A, 4.6.B, 4.7.A, 4.7.B, 4.7.C, 4.8.A, 4.8.B, 4.8.C, 4.8.D, and 4.9.A
