Maritime Security Awareness is a 4 hour USCG & STCW approved course that will provide students with the knowledge required to perform duties in connection with a security plan but are involved in the work of ports, facilities, and vessels and are therefore affected by the requirements of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, and/or Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, and/or the IMO ISPS Code, and/or U.S. Coast Guard regulations contained in 33 CFR Chapter 1 Subchapter H.

Students who successfully complete the Maritime Security Awareness course will meet the STCW training requirements for a “Security Awareness” endorsement. This course is also in compliance with the following standards: Regulations 13.1 and 13.2 (Part A and B) of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and IMO Model Course 3.27 Security Awareness Training for all Seafarers and the requirements of 33 CFR § 104.225 for a Security Awareness endorsement.
