Qualified Assessor is a 3-day USCG & STCW approved course that provides students with the knowledge and skills to apply the international provisions concerning the training and assessment of officers and ratings on merchant vessels. Students will also gain knowledge on determining effective assessment methodologies and organize, administer and conduct assessments.
Students who successfully compete the Qualified Assessor course will satisfy the requirements for Qualified Assessor training and instruction in assessment techniques of 46 CFR 10.405(a)(1) and 46 CFR 10.405(d). To provide knowledge and skills for trainees to administer, supervise and monitor training and assessment of seafarer competence in accordance with the provisions of Section A-1/6 of the STCW Code.
