Simulator Instructor Training is a 4-day USCG & STCW approved course that will provide the student with the conceptual understanding of the importance of maritime education and simulator training with a view of the human element in shipping and special working environment on board a ship. In addition, this course will also assist the student in gaining an understanding into the psychology of learning in order to design and conduct simulator-based training programs, including exercises and detailed briefing and debriefing. Students will be require to plan a program, set up exercises and conduct them in a manner in which the simulator is used to its maximum potential to enhance the professional development of seafarers. Also discussion on use of simulator for evaluation and assessment is included.
Any student successfully completing this Simulator Instructor Training will satisfy the simulator instructor training requirements of Section A-I/6, Paragraph 4.3.1 of the STCW Code, as amended, and NVIC 03-14 Enclosure (4) 3.d.1.
