Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD) is an 1-day USCG & STCW approved course is intended to provide the student with the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code, and Section A-VI/6 and Table A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code, as amended.
Any student successfully completing this 8-hour Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD) course will satisfy the training requirements of 46 CFR 12.625(a)(1) and STCW as amended Paragraphs 6-8 of Section A-VI/6 and Table A-VI/6-2 for an STCW endorsement as Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties.
