Curriculum Development Process

Curriculum development is a year-round process at San Jacinto College. Faculty originate proposals in the Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) system to add or revise programs or courses. Proposals move through a specific online workflow of College personnel who need to review and accept the proposal, including but not limited to the discipline’s Department Chair and instructional Dean on the faculty originator’s campus. Once all documentation and preliminary acceptance is in place, the faculty originator presents the proposal to the College-wide curriculum committee for review and approval. The curriculum committee consists of faculty, Department Chairs, Deans, and Student Services personnel who review and approve curriculum changes.
