San Jacinto College baseball was well represented at the Texas / New Mexico All-Star game played Sept. 25-26 at Weatherford College.

Ten San Jac players were selected to participate in the game, the largest amount to represent the College since nine players were selected in 2003. The event gives baseball student-athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents for collegiate coaches and professional scouts. Players are selected at the annual conference meetings based on the previous year’s achievements.

The 10 players selected to represent San Jacinto College are catcher Brett Wright (New Caney / New Caney High School), infielder Brandon Montgommery (Collierville, Tennessee / Collierville High School), infielder Gonzalo Sosa (Houston / Langham Creek High School), outfielder Max Wood (Vancouver, British Columbia / West Vancouver Secondary High School), outfielder Kyle Barfield (College Station / A&M Consolidated High School), pitcher Hudson Treu (Houston / Houston Christian High School), pitcher Donny Diaz (Kingsville / Kingsville High School), pitcher Colten Schmidt (La Porte / La Porte High School), pitcher Jorge Fernandez (Del Rio / Del Rio High School), and pitcher Cody Nesbit (La Porte / La Porte High School).

San Jacinto College finished the 2015 with a 41-22 overall record, won the Region XIV tournament, and advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series for the 23rd time in school history. A school-record 16 San Jacinto College baseball student-athletes transferred to four-year colleges and universities following the successful 2015 season.
