San Jacinto College received a NASA MAA grant to provide enriching STEM learning education and experiences to students to reduce achievement gaps in STEM education and careers. To help your child excel in STEM subjects, we have three grade level programs they can participate in:
4th and 5th grade (open in Fall and Spring)– six weeks of FREE educational programming with STEM topics such as human survival in space, the solar system size, circuits, space mining & more.... This program is now offered 100% ONLINE but limited to Texas residents only. For more information on this program, please email us at email@example.com.
FREE STEM Summer camps - These FREE two week-long cyber camps are for students who have just completed the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. These online camps are offered in June to August in 2-week formats for 4 hours of student engagement per day (Monday to Friday). Camp topics focus on NASA’s journey to MARS and include the engineering design cycle, rocketry, parachute landings, survival systems, space weather, navigation, robotics, and more... These summer camps will be offered online but limited to Texas residents only. Family ACADEMY - STEM Night
Families can attend FREE workshops to learn how to engage with their students on STEM topics. Parents will receive instruction on at home activities they can do with their children with an explanation of the scientific theories behind each.
Events are one evening in December, February and May from 6-8 pm
